| A buddy of mine has two new rods and he wants me to buy one from him at a good deal. He has 2 -8' Shimano compre rods.. one is Heavy and one is XHeavy. I need a good 8' rod but don't know much about the compre.
Can anyone comment? and which would be better the XH fast or the H fast? i would mainly use this as a general purpose rod. Everything but Mag dawg and #10's which i have an okuma for. |

Location: Ontario | They're a good rod and the have a good warranty, sounds like you're getting a good deal already, I say go for it. Pretty tough to go wrong with Shimano stuff. They've always made a good rod. In an 8' especially, I think with muskie rods erring on the heavy side in terms of action is always a safe bet. |

Location: Oswego, IL | I have one, have it for back up on trips and use around my home(to worried about damaging my tourneys wading at the river) with medium size baits, jerks, live bait , but havent had an issue with it and still feels somewhat light for what it is. I would say why not? |

Location: lake x...where the hell is it? | Compre's are great rods, i have had mine for 5 or 6 years and have not had a single issue with it like i have had with some of my more $$$ ones. i would go with the XH, lures seem to be getting BIGGER every season. and the over the counter warranty cant be beat. if you dont want it i would buy it. |

| If you already have an Okuma XH for Double 10s & Mag Dawgs, then I would recommend getting the Heavy Compre. I have and XH Compre and does work great for 10s, Dawgs, ripping big cranks. Pretty nice rod fo the money IMO. |
