Location: Racine, Wi | What kind of help are you looking for? What types of lakes, what part of fall (early, mid, late)? There are a lot of variables, but typically you'll see a movement in early fall, of fish back into shallow structures as the waters cool down. Then as the shallow weeds die, fish tend to move to the edges of the deeper weeds and to rocks (although, they'll be on rock in early fall as well). Then with late fall and minimal remaining "good" weeds, the fish tend to drop even deeper off the edge of breaks. However, if you can find good green weeds in late fall, they will hold fish. Don't over look deep rock piles in late fall either.
As far as baits go, early fall, topwaters and bucktails usually take the prize (being general here), then mid fall, I tend to stick with the topwater and bucktails, but add in more cranks and dawgs. Into late fall, it's usually all cranks and dawgs for me. Of course, we usually have meat out while casting as well.
Without any specific questions, that should get ya started hopefully. |
