Live by Fort Dodge and fish Brushy and Clear Lake. Timing is everything.... Finally caught a great one on brushy this year....first fish (except a little 20") trying for them in 4 years. I seen LOTS of fish on Brushy this year...and the 3 trips to CL none.

Posts: 767 Location: Ames, Iowa | Are you seeing fish on Brushy that are suspended or in the shallows? Following baits to the boat or frolicking at the top? I get the idea every time I'm there that every species of fish are at or near the bottom in the timber.

Posts: 36 Location: Terril, IA | Hey Guys, Shaley is right, if you already have a bump board, but just need a sticker for Friday, you can pick it up at the Expo Center in Spirit Lake from 6pm to 7pm Thurs. Sept. 17th. You can also pick em up at Oh Shucks Friday morning as well, They open at 6 pm, and of course fishing don't start till 7 am so that works as well. If you need a bump board we will sell them at 6 pm to 7 pm Thursday Sept. 17 at the Expo Center as well. They of course will be available Fri, Sat, Sun. tool. We look forward to seeing everyone at the tournament this weekend! We have some great raffle prizes again this year. Good Luck!

I get the idea every time I'm there that every species of fish are at or near the bottom in the timber. Earlier in the spring you will find them suspended a LOT.....many times right out in the middle of the lake. I do not believe they are on the bottom....thermocline is around 25' and the lake is up to 70' plus deep.
