Posts: 1286 Location: WI | One strike trolling, one while casting, and a bunch of pike. Pretty slow action for me lately but I'm glad to be getting some time in.

Posts: 156 | Fished Apple Canyon Lake (I know kidding self) for 3 hours Sat., and Shabbona for 4 hours Sunday. Skunked. The kind of time on the water that makes you want to take up Bass fishing.

Posts: 19 | It was a tough bite for sure. I was out Saturday and Sunday with about 8-10 follows and only 2 pike in the boat. Several were nice fish but they just wouldn't commit. Edited by Ifishskis Jr. 8/31/2009 8:57 PM

Posts: 283 | Like I said on the other fishing report I went out saturday for acouple of hours caught a 43 and 41 also saw 8 others and missed 2 more. The 41 was on a homemade bucktail that ate in the eight after being in the eight for a good 30-40s. Then Sunday went out again for two hours and managed to get a 34 with no other action. I also tried my hand at photoshop so we will see how bad they look once I get the pics up.

For sure better lake in Il than that one. Cold and high skies, I should expect a skunking, but a follow would be nice. My first trip to Shabby so I really wasnt sure where to fish. Most of the fishy looking spots on the map had two boats on it already! Tried grinding shallow weeds next to drop offs, tried a suick in the weeds, tried deep cranks and suicks in the main lake timber...nuttin. Water looked real murky, maybe I should of tried some big blades so they could find it.
