Posts: 149 | My top three setups: Tackle Industries Rods: "TI" TI 9' XXH with revo toro big rubber TI 9' MH 400b TI 9' XH 400TE general use TI 9' XH Isis for bucktails and rubber Just now setting up my travel TI rods (new 2pc rods) and getting reels on them. Also just got my new TI jerkbait rod and its sweet. Figuring out a good jerbait reel for that rod next week. http://www.tackleindustries.com/muskypikerods.html TI rods and Shimano reels are among the best I have used for musky fishing.

Posts: 921 Location: Apollo, PA | Yeah, i want to try the Predators and the TI XH, but the loomis steel Nick made for me is awesome. I have a curado on it. So much good stuff. I also have a US Diamondback 9' 4"s with an avet mxj for big blades and a diamond back heavy jerk 7' with a curado. Diamondbacks came from professional edge years ago.

Posts: 375 | 1) Croix Legend Bass Series "Swimbait" rod - LTBC79HF - rated at 1-4 oz baits - jigs, smaller easy-pulling bucks like the mepps musky killer and very small crankbaits & rattlebaits - Curado 301 with a 90lb 49 strand wire leader and either 50lb hi-vis yellow Power Pro Super Slick or 20lb hi-vis yellow Sufix Elite mono. 2) Croix Legend Musky Series "Lip Stick" rod - TMU79HMF - rated at 2-6 oz baits - small to medium heavy topwaters, crankbaits, rattlebaits & jerkbaits, up to db 8's, small to medium size / weight rubber and big jigs - Curado 301 with 65lb timber brown Super Slick - 90lb 49 strand wire leader. I pick this up 80% of the time since I like using the bait sizes & weights above the most. Love the "Moderate" fast action of this rod - very different than the more "standard" fast action rods. 3) Croix Legend Bass Series "Mega Swimbait" rod - LTBC80XHF (no longer made) - rated at 3-8 oz baits - even though it's an "extra heavy" action rod, I think it could have been considered a "moderate" fast action if it were in the Musky Series - medium to heavy weight topwaters / crankbaits / jerkbaits and db 10's - Revo Toro 51 (5:4.1) with 65lb brown Super Slick - 90lb 49 strand wire leader. 4) Croix Legend Musky Series "Big Dawg" rod - TMU86XHF - rated at 4-12 oz baits - anything big / heavy and db 10's - Revo Toro 51 (5:4.1) with 80lb brown Super Slick - 180lb single strand wire leader. If I had to pick just one, it would be a tough call between 2 and 3...

Posts: 619 Location: Verona, WI | My primary set up is a Musky Mayhem Aviao 9' XH with a Calcutta 300TE. LOVE that rod. I can through just about anything with it. It's strong enough to throw mag dawgs but flexible in the tip so I can throw small minnowbaits and Mepps #5s. Can't say enough about it. My 2nd is a Tranx HG with an 8'6" Musky Innovations 4-16 oz rd.
