Posts: 134 | I am curious how those of you who fished the tournament did? I fished the tourney on sat and sun didn't move a fish all day. I had a great time all weekend, we usually do at this event, even though its not a money event its still a great time. For $55 you get a hat, t-shirt, and a musky hunter magazine; and did i mention a chance to win a ranger boat? Anyways, i was at the awards ceremony on Sunday and witnessed some pretty awesome sportsmanship and some pretty lousy sportsmanship. The great sportsman ship came when there was an error in computing who took six place and they had already presented the trophy to a winner. Relizing their error, they summoned the appropriate party to the stage and made the announcement that their would be two six place trophies. Rightfully so, the person who received the trophy in error returned it to the stage and they presented it to the correct person. I thought that showed class on behalf of the guy who knew he didn't win it outright and he brought it back for the person who actually won it. On the flip side of that, when the winner was announced it there wasn't nearly the applause for his efforts and acheivements as their were for the other contestants. Matter of factly it was disappointing. I know the winner of the tournament personally and even to me i thought it was a rediculous showing when he was brought back to the stage for 1st place. Was it because the '09 winner had won the previous two years or because everybody else in the crowd was to proud to applaud his achievement? To top it all off this is not a money tourney, only trophies and some recognition in a few publications, and anglers act like this in front of their kids (who fish with them all weekend in most cases). Disappointing... and maybe i am a little off on this but feel free to chime in. Don't get me wrong, i enjoy winning as much as the next person, but it seems at times anglers get carried away. At the end of the day i would hope sportsmanship would rein but it seems thats wan't the case. For those of you who were there what did you think? For those of you who weren't, what similar experiences have you had?

Posts: 258 Location: Mayville, WI | Another great time had by me and my group! Though the weather wasn't the best we stuck it out and put some fish in the boat. Best year for myself as I doubled up with a 40.5 & 43, the only two fish we saw all weekend with one other hit. Anyone else have to fish through the fog that rolled in around 8ish on sunday? Man was that stuff thick, we couldn't see more than 30-40 feet where we were fishing for around an hour. Hats off to Matt again, he's got a great pattern down that's been producing and he sure deserved the win. There's always next year... sc

I fished on Boot in the fog on Sunday. Kind of eeire as you could hear people talking but couldn't see them. Luckily I had my GPS so I could find the shoreline. I was working a weededge when a boat suddenly appeared about 25 feet away. SC, are you the guy from Waupun that caught the fish on a Bonde bait?
