What is all involved in converting a 60hp merc 4-stroke to a tiller? I know it can be done, but has anyone done this and know what it should cost for parts and labor? Is it a labor intensive deal or something a do-it-yourselfer can tackle? I'm considering trading a 2 stroke merc for this used 4 stroke which is not a tiller, which I need.

Thanks for the replies,

C. Reuk

I did it with my 50hp Merc that I have now. Your going to crap your pants though when you find out what a tiller kit is worth. I got mine for $100 with all cables and the electric start but its for a '90's model motor and the guy didn't know what he had. I figure you'll be looking at $400-$500 just for parts anyway. Over here they were over $650 for everything. It's only a one hour job to do and doesnt take much now how.

Good Luck
Tim
