Posts: 4266 | Hi guys. Been a long time. I have many of God's Gifts that I couldn't get pictures of all of them. Mostly the striped maple, but I did some Zebrawood gliders, one Osage Orange Bumblebee and a bunch of California Redwood gliders in different stages of getting done. The grain on that stuff isn't straight, so I let the grain determine the shape of the lure and don't overdo trying to shape them. I also gave marbleizing a try for the first time and have more plans in store for it. Just wanted to say hi and post a couple picks. I'll have more in the weeks to come if the humidity drops. Lots of odd shapes and patterns. God Bless, Beav Edited by Beaver 8/10/2009 8:22 PM Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Posts: 4266 | The Redhead Jailbird was made for a friend out of Osage Orange that turned that tint of yellow when I sealed it. I've got a bunch of lures made out of different woods that aren't finished yet, so I'll be busy this fall. First of all I have to finish and paint a bunch of Perkas that I have left. I'm going to save one of each blank until I can duplicate them. Might have to take some up to Vermillion. Anyone going....drop me a line with your color requests. Beav

![]() Posts: 28 | Hey Beaver. Nice work. I'm particularly fond of that sucker pattern. I didn't hear a response from you after I posted pictures of my lure. Are you interested in making some? Thanks, Johnny [email protected]

Posts: 4080 Location: Elko - Lake Vermilion | Beav, I'd like a Perka in Whitefish or Cisco color for the November bite on Vermilion. If Pounders work at this time of yr. your Perka should boat a few good fish. Thanks, Jerome

Posts: 4266 | Tigger, always good to hear from you. ![]() Jerome, I painted up 5-10" Whitefish/Cisco....whatever you call them......with a thin Chartreuse belly. Someone asked for one, and it looked so good that I did 5. I'm heading out to the garage to do 5 of those Copper Suckers. Something about that copper that fish like. Anyway, after that I'll have like 3 blanks left from these 10"ers that Lee made for me a few years ago. I don't know what's up with him? I was hearing from him on a regular basis and then I heard that he had a relapse. I hope he's alright but I get no response to my calls or e-mails. I'll have to get some hard maple and try to do them myself. My daughter is gone today so I'll paint for about 2 hours. That's my limit. When she's home, I spend all my time with her. I like to paint lures, but I love my kid. Pictures of the Whitefishco later. God Bless, Beav

Posts: 4266 | Here's what is hanging out in my basement. A bunch of suckers and some Whitefishmacallit. Only a couple of Whitefishmacallits left for Vermillion, and 4 of the Copper Suckers. Taylor and I are going up Wednesday, but have to leave on Thursday so she can get ready for school. Is it that time already? ![]() Beav Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]()

Posts: 4266 | Greetings from Lake Vermillion. Well, I made a road trip and brought a handful of 10" gliders with me. I also brought a couple gliders bigger than the 10's that I made from California Redwood and painted them in a couple of different sucker patterns, and they have been the hot lure in my boat. Still no muskies, but we're catching some pike. Today after giving a glider seminar on the docks in front of the resort, I went out fishing and popped a 40" pike on one of my Redwood gliders. I hope that the trend keeps up and that I start catching some muskies on those lures.......but I won't complain about 40" pike. Beav
