I was on several lakes in N.WI right by the UP boarder last week. Surface temps at the beginning of the week were upper 60's and had dropped to mid-60's by end week because of rain and cold weather. The lakes I fished were all shallow dark lakes and temps were substantially lower than at the same time last year. Hope that helps a little if no one in the UP chimes in.

Fished on Iron Co. lakes with very little action. All the bait shops said due to the weather fishing had been slow and they were right. Moved only 2 fish the whole time with nothing in the net. Still can't beat it up there and the trip to Minocqua was worth it.

Fished a U.P. lake on Friday, seen a few smaller fish. Fairly slow for this time of year. Could not believe the leaves were actually starting to change color allready!!!

fished the up last week. had around 60 follows over 4 days of fishing and 30 of the followers were in one day. caught 4, biggest was 41 in. fish were not hitting on bucktails at all. bull dawgs during the day and topwaters at night were triggering most strikes. out of all the 60 follows i had maybe only 6 muskies actually were hot on the bait and followed the bait into the figure 8. tons of deep lazy follows that would appear 10 feet behind the bait and turn around as i figure 8ed. these fish must not have liked my figure 8 but on some lakes i have done very well on a figure 8. also caught one on a sucker right after i bought it so if you can keep the suckers alive they should be good.
good luck
