| Picked one up (8'6" XH) to use for tossing Mag Bulldogs to replace my 8' Compre XH. I'm not a hard core Muskie guy, but it is a huge improvement IMO. A lot less work tossing the heavy plastics. Only used if for about an hour, and only on mag dawgs. Biggest difference people will likely debate is the new TAC handles (not cork). I personlly prefer cork, but do not have any issues with it. The handles make it very easy to keep a good grip even when wet.
Paired it with a Saltist 30HA & 100# Suffix, which works great for picking up the slack line with ripping dawgs or working it shallow. I plan to try using it for burning double 10's next time out.
For this price range, I am very happy with the combo. Kinda suprised there hasn't been more posted on the forums about these new rods. For this price point, It was highly recommended by the the salesman @ the Custom Muskie shop I bought it from. He said to step up from this rod, I'd be looking to spend at least another $100.
