Posts: 86 | So I've loaded up, as much as I can afford to that is (5 each DCG's 3 each other brands), on Double Cowgirls over the past couple years. Decent success on what I'd figured was a very well built lure. Third day or so of intermitantly using my new R&H brown/gold/brass model I notice it's missing a blade. One of the clevis's broke. I tried to use it afterwords but it felt like the whole lure was spinning instead of just the blade, not sure if this was just a perception as it felt a lot different than it did with two blades. Anyway, just wondered if anybody else is running one with only one blade. Incidently, I did try to contact Musky Mayhem on their website letting them know I had one break. I expected to at least get a response, even if it was "sorry about your luck" but no, instead, nothing.....makes you wonder why companies even ask you or give you the option of contacting them via email in the first place.

Posts: 1243 Location: Musky Tackle Online, MN | I know guys that have intentionally cut one of the blades off just to give the fish something different and have had good success. No reason it shouldn't run well in the water with just one blade. As far as emailing Musky Mayhem, I would try them again if you're looking for a response. They are great about corresponding via email. If that doesn't work, give them a call. Unfortunately, email isn't perfect and they don't always reach their intended recipient. I know Mayhem had some issues about a month back as well. They were able to receive emails but not send them (or vice versa, I can't remember which) for about a week. I do agree in general though, many businesses advertise an email address and you can rarely get a response going this route. Frustrating, for sure. Musky Mayhem is not one of those companies though. I have sent 2 emails to musky mayhem and have never received a response. Could be the reason Aaron stated though.

I fish some single ten bucktails and like them. You have to fish them a little faster to get the blade to run correct. If you run at a moderate or slower speed the big blade doesn't not run smoothly. They do cath fish...

A well built single cowgirl will please an angler most of the time. But stay away from the married ones.

Posts: 462 Location: Antioch, IL | I assume that you would have done this, but to just cover the base. Make sure to completely remove the busted clevis if you still intend to use the lure. It could be catching on the remaining blade/clevis. (I'm sure MM will make it right. I haven't had to deal with them for any problems, but a buddy has and he said they were very easy to deal with and made sure he was happy)

Posts: 86 | Yes, I cut the rest of the clevis off with my trusty knipex. Also, I've looked all over the Musky Mayhem site for a phone number so I could give them a call as suggested and can't find it. Seems like one or two of you guys might have it. If somebody wouldn't mind passing it along it would be appreciated. You can pm me with it even. Thanks in advance, Justin

Posts: 1243 Location: Musky Tackle Online, MN | I just checked Mayhem's site and it doesn't look like it's on there anymore. They've updated the site and now have that contact us form on there instead. This could be another reason they didn't receive your message. I've found that those forms aren't the most reliable, unfortunately. Give Brad or Carrie a call at 218-338-6541. Aaron

Clevis is definitely the weak point. I sent in 3 that were down to a single blade and never got as much as an "oh well" in return. Still a great bait, but could use a beefier clevis....perhaps stainless.

Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Or, they could be out for a couple days. Or, they might be really really busy. Lures break. Get some wire and rebuild the thing, you can get a number 10 blade from R&H. It's easy, and kinda fun too. I bet my son Keith could get anyone what they need cheap to repair any double 10s they have in need.

Posts: 86 | I wanted to make sure I let everybody know that Musky Mahem did finally respond to the request I sent in to them a little less than a month ago. They're standing by their product which makes me a happy camper and I wanted to give credit where it's due. Justin
