Location: Not where I wanna be! | I have a Cardiff I have been fishing with for a few years..... and this past weekend it started squeaking, then it turned into a constant shrill sound and even felt like it was mildly grinding....
Is that the line guide teeth? interior gears?
im not sure?
any suggestions???? |

Location: Sw Pennsylvania | I had a problem like that last year. I had to tear it down and grease it real well. Not sure if its the same problem but it sounds like it could be a bad bearing also. They are easy to tear down, you may already know this. It happened after it got wet from the line and then froze when i sat down for 15 min. It was very cold this particular day. |

Location: Not where I wanna be! | I just took it apart and put some oil in the line guide teeth and dropped a few in the gears.... it is MUCH smoother and hopefully it works.... |

Location: Kodiak, AK | You've got better luck than me. I had a Cardiff for exactly one day before the handle and attached internal components came loose and ground to a halt. I wisened up and got the TE like I should have in the first place. Maybe I had a bad one. I read a thread on here a while back where a bunch of guys like them. Hopefully it works out for you with the grease. |
