Because all of "those" muskies were easy to catch!...

Kieper's Small Pond Monsters Gets the nod. Great action ALL from fish caught in NW Wisconsin. Insruction on topics of sucker fishing, trolling and casting. Plus some sweet tunes thrown in for good measure. Hard to beat this one.

I like the Pure Musky Productions?? 2 hour plus DVD. I won it in a muskies Inc raffle and liked the fact that these two 'kids' fished primarily Vilas/Oneida cty's and seemed to do very well. Lots of action, seem like everyday guys who still get pumped about a mid 30's fish, like the rest of us, and are fishing waters most of us from WI have fished. I recommend it, change of pace from the 50"ers that seem to come on every other cast in MN.

There are so many great videos out there I just got Greg Thomas' new video as well as Go FISH. Red fin outdoors should sell them as a set. Both are the best for what they are.

Greg seems to be the newest guy to reach superstar status in the musky world, the likes of Joe Bucher, and Pete Mania. His instructional stuff is amazing.

Jerry on Go Fish is awesome as well. It is good to see a slightly newer figure on the horizon put out an action video, that's heads and tails above the rest.

I think we outside of MN are slightly bitter because of the quality of management and saturation of amazing fisheries there. There is a ton of pressure out there though, and these guys wade through it. I've seen first hand both of these guys catch monster fish behind 2 or 3 other boats.

The reason a lot of these videos are chalked full of 50 inch MN fish attests to the fisheries, and the quality of fisherman there. Some of the guides up in MN are musky machines. Guy's like Thomas, Sondag, Hoppe, Jonesi, Luke R. and Hamernik, are as close to automatic as it comes when catching big fish. You can't fault a video for having superior talent stomping out big fish after big fish.

If I had more time and money, I would spend my seasons jumping in and out of each of their boats.

Most of the greats have already been mentioned but one that I also liked was a video from Mike Keyes. I think it was called "Slime Time." It was a little different than most dvd's. They did a wilderness trip in upper Wisconsin where they needed big 4x4's to get to the landing. Then they floated down a very narrow river boating several small muskie's until Mike hooks a 50...never would have thought a fish that big would have came out of that river. Pretty cool video though.

Go fish is the best video I never seen, great quality and very good footage, the bad fish series is next in line, they look like they are actually having fun which is what the sport is all about, I hate when someone catches a big fish on video and their emotions are just dull? that don't make sense to me, its like they are not even happy.

one of my absolute favorites is badfish outdoors musky town documentry. A lot of good info and the interviews with all the guides and fisherman are really cool. And of course the fishing video is amazingggg. Another good thing about the badfish outdoors videos is they are really funny. When i try and explain the jokes to my non fishing friends they dont laugh, so i guess it some really good fishing humor! KEEP THE VIDEOS COMING BADFISH OUTDOORS!!!

Hey Jim, thanks for the Kudos. And thanks everyone for the thumbs up on Go Fish. We worked and fished really hard to put that thing together. I was hoping to put the sequel out this winter but it may have to wait another year. Too many guiding cancellations to afford it.

To add to bigman's comment on emotion, it does make a video, heck, even an outing sour, when the guy doesn't show any emotion after catching a fish. Tonight I was fishing with my nephew, when I hooked a giant. the fish was in the air, under the boat, all over the place. Finally after it was in the bag he was teasing me. He said "after all the big fish you've caught, you still shake like a leaf".... I guess that's why I continue to do it... There's nothing better. If it ever stops exciting me, I'll quit.

My favorite DVD has always been Musky Town by BadFish. It was funny, I talked to Sloan about it and he said out of all the Badfish series that one in particular had the poorest sales. I thought it was the best.

My two favorites are Go Fish and Small Pond Monsters. Go Fish has some great boat side action and entertainment. Small Pond Monsters gives you worthy info. and proves WI has HUGE fish. Can't wait to see the next videos they put out.

My favorite are not DVDs, but my favorite muskie video's (can't remember the titles right now) are the ones where they interview the old musky guides. I looked at Rollie and Helen's Magazine last night and don't see them carried anymore. Too bad, because they give the younger guys a little perspective on things.

I just fished last weekend with Greg and Matt from Pure Musky Productions and we landed 4 musky in two days. Many other strikes and follows. These guys know Musky. We landed a 45", a 38" a 34" and one little 25". It was a blast. We fished North and South Twin Lake in Phelps, WI.

I highly recommend them.
