| What is a good reel for around $175 for pulling big blades, heavy soft plastics, pounders etc. That can hold up to the wear and tear throwing big baits? |

| if your planning on fishing short hard days i would get a saltist 30. if your planning on fishing long days i would look for something smaller and lighter. these things are tanks and will wear you down fast, especially the saltist 40. if your looking for more comfort i would look to an abu toro, revo, a little more money though. or the salitst 20 thats a little more user friendly (not as bulky and heavy). |

Is there that much difference in the Saltist 20 and 30?
The Saltist Level Wind
20 - 18.50 oz
30 - 19.40 oz
Is the main difference in the width? Would the 30 cast a little easier? |

Location: Contrarian Island | yes main difference is spool width..I would suggest the 30 size w/ levelwind..they are not heavy or too big to cast all day imo...not even close....they are about the size of an abu 7000 ....you have to engage the spool manually w/ these but it is very easy after a few casts to time it right....for your price range get the saltist 30 w/ levelwind. |

| I use the Avet MXL5.8 it's a non level-wind that is easy to use and weighs only 18oz. it is about the same weight and size of an abu 7000. I bought mine from J&H tackle for $189 shipped last summer. The reel is very high quality and made is the US, it's in my hands 90% of the time. It's the perfect big blade reel for me. |

| i like my new avet sx 6/4 2 speed. very light weight, lots of power for its' small physical size, made in the USA and comes in a left handed version which is what works best for me. the same reel in the single speed version would be closer to the price range you were looking for. cabbagekeyrodandreel.com...talk to eddy...

| got to try out my new saltist LW 30 its a awsome reel was throwing mag dawgs pounders and blades on it lots of power and like said before smooth |

| I've been using my Saltist LW 30 for 3 weeks now and really like it. Pulls big blades with ease and is not so big that you can't use it all day. I would recommend to anyone looking to get one. |
