I have about half a spool of line and want to add more to help burn DCG's. What sort of knot would be best? Ladderback

You shouldn't have to worry about the knot holding as you should never get that far down on your spool. But the uni to uni is likely the most secure and it's also a simple knot to tie. Aaron

Posts: 1270 | Two granny knots! Seriously it doesn't matter what knot you use to tie on your backing, there are times I will use a back to back uni knot but most time I just run the two line together and tie two granny knots.

Posts: 1663 Location: Kodiak, AK | I'm a fan of the Bimini Twist, and then put two back to back with a loop-to-loop. The Bimini's are stronger than the line they're tied in, and they're low profile should they go through the guides.
