| I was out on Tonka yesterday in the heavy winds scouting some new spots to fish. LOTS of baitfish stacked up in wind blown areas both shallow and off the steeper breaks.
I have not had much luck in the shallows yet this year so I will focus my time off the steep breaks where the bait is stacked, but you can be sure I will be checking on the shallows randomly because if they are not there now, they will be at some point.
Certain channels and bridges showed signs of promise as well
I plan on doing some scouting and actually taking some casts on Waconia and/or Independence tomorrow.

Location: Mayer, MN | Tony I saw your rig headed east on County Road 6 Saturday and thought to myself he must be crazy!
I was walking the Luce Line with the family.

Location: Southern Ontario, Detroit River and Lake StClair | Wind direction and speed plays a HUGE part in some of the areas I fish. Not just with bait stacked up on breaks or flats like you mentioned but also on open water. 90% of the time the areas I fish or how I fish an area on any given day are based on wind direction.

| Jason,
Yep, that was me. The wind has been pretty bad and the water temps have dropped significantly over the past week.
Fishing was very tough this morning. Winds were strong at 5 a.m and let up a bit as the day wore on and the sun came out. I am thinking this sun will help things out a bit and it looks as if the winds will come back a bit as well.
I am still moving fish in deeper water, but I spent a lot of time checking the shallows the past two days. Not much going on, but it is nice to eliminate some water when you are out there targeting specific areas.
