Hey was in the process of getting a abu 7000 hsn with the custom gears. when i read on here that alot of you guys like the saltist and the like (non levelwind reels) but before i run out and get one how does the reel keep your line from not bunching to one side. Is my real question what keeps it a nice tight spool cast after cast.

You can now buy a saltist with the level wind. If you go with the non level wind, the line goes where it wants with no major problems. I believe a few people may use there thumb to help guide the line as it is picked up on the spool. No worries if you elect to buy the level-wind model.

i run a non levelwind shimano torium. the way i look at it is it works like a winch. it just kind of fills in the gaps.
it helps if while spooling to spool the first part like a v then fill the center. this will keep the line from wandering too bad.
