Posts: 425 | I have two of the same topwaters here (Havana) I am trying too swich the hooks for better hook ups. Should I go with the three 5/0 or the two 7/0, they both walk the dog the exact same. They "walk the dog" Great. Edited by 50"skie 6/29/2009 10:42 AM Attachments ---------------- unknown.jpg (140KB - 79 downloads)

keep them like they where when you get them.i dont think extra weight will be helpfull for a good side 2 side action

Location: Oswego, IL | Yeah like Mota said, I messed around with a few baits, up sized hooks = Waste of time! Now I have to change them all back. Not good for split rings to be open and shut over again. Also most lure manufactures now all pre run them to see what work the best anyways. Edited by muskiewhored 6/29/2009 4:58 PM

Posts: 727 | I would leave the two because you might have problems with foul hooking on the 3 hook setup. If your trying to gain more weight you could replace the screw eyes with bigger ones.

Posts: 425 | I was already testing them out and the 3 hardly never gets fouled. The bait comes out of the box with only two 5/0. Last year I missed alot because of that. That is the reason I want to switch too bigger or more hooks. Edited by 50"skie 6/29/2009 5:32 PM

Location: Oswego, IL | Trial and Error. You can always change hooks on the water, I carry all my tools in case of broken or cut hooks. Ive swapped so many hooks and splits, I can now do them in about 4 min. Still kind of slow, but its good for me. Also give me a short break from casting. Good luck, let us know if it works out.

Posts: 20217 Location: oswego, il | If the three never gets fouled, I would go that route. I am not a huge fan of a large two hook bait as it leaves to much area for a fish to grab and not have an optimal hookup. I like hook points to be anywhere a fish can grab a bait if possible.
