I know that this has been asked hundreds of times on here and everyone is getting annoyed with it but Im in a situation where I can only get a reel for burning bucktails in a short amount of time and I need to make a decision. Is the Induron perfectly capable of burning tens or should i go with a 7000 red or a trinidad or maybe something else? Thanks for your patience

The only one of those three that is really capable of BURNING a tail is the Trinidad.

The others will work great for normal use, but not for really giving them speed

Mto has the torium on sale. It's basically the same as a trinidad. I have one and love it.

my ol 7001 can burn any bucktails on hearth, and if i want i can make them pop out of the water,so i think if you have some energy you will be able to make the same thing

Up until this year I used an old 7000 w/ 5.3 gears. Trying out a new trinidad 14 this year... can't really say it's any faster. If anything I gotta give the 7000 the edge. The spool on my trinidad isn't filled all the way tho... so thinking of adding some backing and see how it does. Was a little disappointed in the speed so far.

I would preferably not have to spend over 300 dollars. Does that rule out some of the higher end shimanos?

You can get pretty much anything you want for that price. That's what I paid for my trinidad. Do a google 'shopping' search for whatever you're looking for. I think you can get a 700te for around that much, a penn 975 for a little less, a 7000 for a lot less.

when people around here say trinidad, it usually means the 16N, which has another 10 inches of line retrieve per crank over the 14 (36 vs 46). huge difference. and the 16 does just absolutely burn the DCGs, it's awesome.

SHIMANO TRINIDAD 16N is the reel to smoke DCG10 - 13 !!!!!!!! with 75 % filled with 100lb test will bring in baits at 33-34" per turn of handle. The 7000 with 5.3:1 gears with 100% filled with line will bring in at 27 - 29" per turn of handle, the 7000 with 4.1:1 gears at 20-22" per turn of handle.

Remember no levelwind on those 16N's. Teach your thumb on days off, nothing more annoying than trying to learn something while actually fishing.

TEs, 975s, 7000s, are not burning bucktail reels imo..not even close...
Trinidad 16N and in your price range Saltist 20/30 would actually burn them.

Also ck out FIN-NOR REELS the OFL16L has 4.3:1 gears, line pickup of 34" and has a level wind, and the OFC16H has 6.2:1 gears with aline pickup of 49" !!!!! no level wind, both are 23.5oz in weight. I wonder if you could put a set of OFC16H 6.2:1 gears in the OFL16L ???? Not sure what kind of cast control is on theses reels ??? Retail is $199.99 for both.

Just measured the retrieve on my tn14... 30" w/ the spool under-filled.
