For years my family has been going up to Lake Namekagon at the end of june for a week for our family vacation. For the past 3 years I have been musky fishing on it. Havent gotten one on the lake yet, but have seen some reallly monster girls out there. I'm just wondering if anyone else fishes the hell out of this lake and were most of your success comes from at the end of June. Mine has been in the middle part of the lake in sawmill bay. Its one of the most beautiful and amazing lakes I know of in northern wisconsin and I cant wait to catch my first pig on it!

Great lake; it's where my musky addiction began. I caught a beautiful 42" musky in the fall the Saturday morning after a high school football game. I can remember every detail about the day.
As it seems like you already know, it's not really a numbers lake; but the ones you do catch are usually quality fish and there are definitely some pigs out there. If I had more experience on it, I would help you out; but I fish the Minocqua, Eagle River area. I'm sure there will be others who can help though. Good luck.

Might want to consider hiring a guide?
Bruce Shumay or Joel Tinker would be my recommendations.
They both put in lots of hours in on the lake.....with results!

Bruce doesn't guide much there anymore, Bill (Shumway) might.

another vote for Joel Tinker, Top Tackle Guide Service
class act, knows his stuff, multi-species, reasonable rates
there are some nice sized smallies in there too, walleye size is about average
here is a link to his website:
