Posts: 32886 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I was out on George (Oneida Co, WI) last night for an hour, and found water temps at 74.9, WAY warmer than August average temps. What are water temps where you are? By the way, bait and fish were concentrated in shallow water for the most part, and the only Muskie I raised was in less than a foot. Even the Crappies, which are usually in deep water this time of year, were popping the top in 2'.

Posts: 1316 Location: Lebanon,Mo | Last week or two we have dropped to the mid to upper 70's due to the cooler weather here in the south, but we topped out in the mid 80's in July. This was a cooler year than normal for us.Have seen it close to 90 in past years.

Posts: 331 Location: Stevens Point, Wisconsin | LOTW is also at highest temps of year, 68-70. Big fish are really going and I just loaded the boat to head back to WI. Looks like a couple days in the upper 60's and then back to mid 70's early next week.

Posts: 3480 Location: Elk River, Minnesota | Pointer, This is the warmest stretch of weather we have had all summer, so although wind does help drop the temps, most northern states didn't see water temps in the 70's at all this summer for any length of time. The warmer water now is due to middle 80's during the day and mid 60's at night.... Seems as though everything is pushed back a month...the weather we normally have in August (those flat calm "dog days") are happening now, and seem to be staying that way for another week or so. Best fishing of the summer could be right now... Steve

Posts: 1059 Location: Medford, WI | No clue....but I do know that this is the type of weather my buddy and I would've killed for all summer; and of course, now that school starts, we get it!!! Hopefully, I can get up somewhere tomorow for a little while at least. Next weekend, I have to be on the water....going through withdrawal. Good luck to everyone that gets out there....don't forget about night-fishing either. This should be the perfect conditions for it. Flat, hot-sunny days and temps not dropping hardly at all into the evening/after dark. -Jake Bucki

Posts: 134 | Water temps were 64 degrees two weeks ago. Caught a 42 on a sucker. (sucker fishing in August, unbelievable) This weekend the water was 73, no wind, shot the tackle box at them and dragged meat. NOTHING!

Posts: 199 Location: Nebraska | Just got back from Minaki. We had 6 hours' worth of clouds in 10 days, zero rain and flat calm. Water was 67 when we got there. It was 71.7 when we left.
