| I use the tip of my Swiss Army Knife to take the locking ring off the handle shaft, by prying it slowly off. It usually shoots across the room so I don't have to do that again.[] |

| I use a hemostat. A real small one that I use for ice-fishing. If that doesn't work, just use a knife and work down from the top. Put the tip of the knife right in the bend of the "C" and gently pry it halfway out. Make sure you don't let it go flying[:0]

| Slamr, if your talking about the wave washer, there should be a small e-clip holding it on. Just carefully pry it off, but be careful. They have a tendency to fly off into never-never land. Hope this helps! If not, go break a jet ski. Reels are to valuable.[;)] |

| What do you think the hammer was invented for? If the reel gives you any crap, just hammer it into a pancake. Then go buy a new one that comes with a new handle.
good luck dude

| Slmr..
Go in the bathroom, close the drains in sink and tub, put the lid down and sit on the toilet and pry the little varmint loose...
If it flys off it can't go far in a room that small....
Just make sure if it lands in magazine rack not to tear the picture of Ms. July when you retreive it..[] [] [] |

| Pried the damn thing off with a flat head screw driver last night....and YES it flew all the way across the room. Reel ready to go, now all fishing gear is back on-line and ready to hurt fish!
