I wanted to start making my own Flashuobu bucktails. One thing, what do you tie the flashoubu to? I don't want to buy the pre-tied.

For a coil, you can go to you local hardware store and buy a small diameter lawnmower throttle cable. Remove the inner wire and cut it into 1/2-3/4" pieces and you have the same thing as the coils sold by tackle supply stores. But, I have also just tied it right to the wire using zip-tyes. I fished a couple I made this way all last season with no problem. Although, the coil adds weight, if necessary or preferred.
