what do you guys think would be a good real for double 10's around 100.00, I know, I know..... not much to work with but can it be done. do you think a cardiff with a power handle would do it? any info would be great!!!

Posts: 1887 Location: syracuse indiana | most reels will actually do ok but if you like to burn them you will need a little more reel.. and remembering to aim the rod directly at the bait helps out a ton less pull on you and rod and having a completly filled reel with line helps also.. and having a powerhandle make it the shiznit....bill

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | Ya, archernut makes a good point. My Abu 6500 is NOT my TE400 w/power handle. But for 80% of what I do with DC bucktails it works fine. I should also mention I can't fish to save my life PS-My Abu 6500 has a power handle on it and this may help a little. Edited by Tackle Industries 4/17/2009 9:58 PM

do you guys think that a low profile reel like a citca, would stand up to the beating, or would I have to upgrade to a revo, or a whinch or something?

Posts: 283 Location: beloit | I use an Abu 7000 4.1 gear ratio for dbl 10s that works great. they go for about 130.00

Posts: 663 | For a hundy you might be able to find an older Calcutta CT (prior to the B series). It has a lower gear ratio that will make the job easier.
