I have a big problem with my Humminbird. I have a 595c Combo. I just got it last year and it was working fine until last fall and is still going on. I press the power button and it wont go on, the lights behind the buttons are lighting up but the screen just won't turn on. If I look really close and hard I can see the screen on but the light wont turn on and I can't really even see it at all. It will work about 15% of the time. Any help!!!
And yes, it is charged

Thanks!!

Same thing happen to me about two years. I was able to take it back and they exchange it for me. I have heard of others having this problem with there HB. If it isn't under warranty I think it cost 143$ to fix. I wonder what would make the screen do that? Hope everything works out for you.

Cabelas. I didn't even have a receipt. Walk right in the front door told the person working the front of the store that I wanted to show somebody in the fishing electronics how my unit was acting up. She put a sticker, I went to the back there explain to the fishing manager that I bought the HB about a year and half ago and now my screen goes black. He took a look at it and then he wrote up a slip for me to take up the exchange counter and told me if they ask not to say that I bought it over a year ago. Did what he said and this unit has been working for two years now. There is two reasons that I can think that would cause this. Leaving your HB on your dash in extreme hot temperatures or running it off your trolling batteries instead of your starting battery. Trolling batteries tend to get low voltage which is bad for sonors. Did you buy your sonar about a year ago. Try getting it exchange.Good luck.

I can't say what is up with your unit, but I can say that Humminbird Customer Service is the BEST. Hands down. Call them, get a customer number and they will get it right.
Good luck.

We have seen this happen with the 500 series, sometimes the screens will fade out. I usually got them back by holding down the menu (I think) and then powering them off and up again. Might want to check with the humminbird site, but a warm boot will bring them back.

I tried holding down on the info key while holding on the power key, for now, worked perfect.
Have one more question, I have something show up on some lakes in some specific areas that I don't know what it is. They look like little pepples in a ring shape. Is that locating a fish crib? What is that?

Just got this unit myself, haven't had a ton of time to play with it. Do the humminbirds have the sun/moon rise/set like the lowrance and eagles?
