How important do you guys think it is to have a hook at the very end of the lure? It seems like a lot of muskies that aren't really that committed will nip at the tail of the lure. If a lure only has one hook in the front and one in the middle, are we missing some of the uncommitted fish by not have a hook at the very rear? Any other thoughts on hook placement are also appreciated.

depends upon style. our lures have a tailhook.making trolling lures we need the rear treble. normally toothys crush the bait sideways. casting can be a different story.

I have caught fish castig and trolling on the rear hook. I think it is very important. Sometimes you get those fish to do the rise and swipe, their one and done apoach to the bait. It seems like they never t-bone the bait and often miss but sometimes they get close enough to get that rear hook. I am all for it, give you one more opportunity to boat a fish.
