Subject: X-Rap Walk 13 question

I see Rapala claims this lure is 5 1/4" long. I was wondering if that measurement is the length of the body or the length of the bait with the feathered tail. If anyone already owns one of these and could verify that would be handy. These look like they could be an awesome spring bait if the body is actually 5 1/4". If it's that long with the tail I'm thinking it will be a little small.

I don't have a X-Rap Walk but I have other X-rap models that have the dressed hooks. The length published on those is the actual length of the lure body without the dressed hook. So I would assume the X-Rap Walks would be published the same.

I have one, but not with me at the moment. 5.25'' seems about right for the length of the body. I threw mine only a few times, and it seemed too small for me. I put on my jackpot and within 20 min I caught one.

I have Subwalk 15s that are 6.25" from front eye to back eye.
Every inch a good muskie lure. I think the 15s will be awesome early season lures, but I wouldn't go much smaller than them.
I don't think that they count the feather in the measurement.

Not to hijack this but I threw one after my buddy said it's action sucked- and indeed it did. Anyone like the action or have ideas on how to get it going? Maybe it's one of those lures that one out of 5 are winners, who knows!

llunged, are you referring to the topwater, the subwalk, or both as not working well? By not working well, what do you mean? I am interested in the large subwalk(the drop belly type), so any input would be appreciated.

The Subwalk gets bit. In the prototype stages I netted a 40 incher for a buddy and he dumped a 50 - 51 at the boat on the same bait. Small but get's bit (by good ones).

I got the Sub-Walk 15s from Cabelas.
I think that I also saw them in Bass Pro Shops Saltwater catalog.
That's how it was advertised at Cabelas too.
