| Congrat's to you Jason and Keopp on the fish out on Pewaukee this weekend!
I was out on Saturday morning for a few hour's and seen one follow around 6 times on a figure "8" and never hit. That was it!
Sunday I fished from 6:00 to 10:00 am and never saw a fish. |

| Here is a pic of the fish I caught on Saterday. I moved one other 40 class fish and had a 40 incher on but didn't make it to the boat for a picture. I think the "saw" Jason made us use for the match photos scared it. This is the pic without the saw, the other match picture is a different thread. Didn't get out Sunday, kids bought me breakfast and did honey-du list things. Look out this week!!!!!

| My first good weekend of the year. Up till now muskies have been hard to come by. Friday my wife caught a 37" on a pacemaker. Saturday I needed to cut down trees at the cottage and split wood but today was all fishing. From 6am to 9am had three follows and a 37" landed. Went back out from 9:30 till noon. Buchers moon secrets hot times were from 9:36 to 11:06 and I had a big fish blow up on my best spot at 9:40. Caught a 42" at 10:35 and a 35" four casts later. All on my hot working suick. Went back to the "big" fish but nothing showed.
Hey Jason, I was at Pewaukee about 6pm on the 8th to spend some money at Smokey's and just check the landings out as I had never been there before. You guys deserve a medal just for getting on and off the lake. I am moving my daughter from Madison to Milwaukee later this summer and thought I could bring the boat and check out Pewaukee. Doesn't look like it would be worth the trouble. Maybe I'll leave the boat up north and check out some guides.

| Hey Buddy,
There is a time and place to fish the lake. The 8th at 6pm is not a good time to launch.[;)]
Often you have to wake up real early on Saturdays and be off by 10am...leave the lake to the pleasure trash![] |

| Spent the late afternoon/evening Saturday on White Bear. Water temps 67-68. A couple of small pike and a nice "swirl" on a gold "Doc", but no muskie slime in the boat. Oh well, nice day on the lake; not as much traffic as I expected. It was my first time on the lake, so I probably spent more time learning a few places opn the lake rather than actually fishing. Looking forward to getting back out there.
I think I'll be on Mille Lacs for a full day on Wednesday (I hope the weather holds), and probably back to White Bear for a half day on Thursday.
That's all for now.

We should try to hit the water again sometime this season.
Whadaya think?

| Took my visiting brother in law fishing on Saturday. We each caught 2, all 35"-37". His first musky trip. He sliced up his fingers on one of the fish, too. "You know it's a great trip when you run out of bandaids." |

|
| I fished Shish, never been on it for muskies before. Sue had a good fish smash her Spinnerbait at the boat, but never really hooked up. I saw two yesterday, both in the 45" class. The lake looks really good, but not much for muskie activity. I am still in the early part of the learning curve there.
I also fished Bass, and did very well, finding several good schools of fish up to 18".[] |

|
| Nothing on Saturday for our matchfish.
Caught a 36" Sunday on a 10 weighted Suick to take third in the Minoqua Father's Day Tounament. Only three fish were caught all weekend. |

| Waterwolf:
Isn't that my line??? I admit, I have been unusually active this spring/early summer. One of our cases which was scheduled for a three week trial starting June 8, settled in mid-May. That has left me with some extra free time this month[;)] .
It also helps to finally have a boat. Now I am constantly seeking people to fish with. It's less embarassing to call someone, and say, "Do you want to go fishing?", when you aren't also saying, "in your boat."
That said, I would love to go out in your new rig. If I rememeber correctly you landed a Muskie Edition Crestliner in the off-season, right? (Although I understand that was not your most important catch of the off-season.) Anyway, I might have some free evenings next week if you are free. Feel free to call or e-mail.
Thanks, Bill
P.S. Going out fishing with you, Tom B. and Happy Hooker last summer really helped my learning curve in this new sport. I feel much more comfortable and confident out on the water. I have fished different lakes each time I've been out so far this year, and I feel like I can go out on a new body of water, and make some reasonably educated guesses on where to start, what to throw, etc. Thanks again!! |

| I had a good/bad weekend. After the rain stopped on Friday I managed to land a 35 incher. We also moved some fish, but they weren't real active. I also hooked into a 25" pike, that dirty sucka ended up running off with one of my favorite spinnerbaits in his mouth. I guess it was kinda my fault for trying to "long arm release" him. On Saturday I lost a mid thirty incher that hit boatside on a sucker Undertaker, doh! I wasn't too upset with losing that fish. It was pretty awesome working the bait and seeing for the first time a ski attacking my bait up close![:sun:] Later that day I wrestled with a mid fourty incher, but she won the battle about five feet from the boat. She swam way with her fins pointed at me almost waving good-bye.[:blackeye:] [:((] Oh well I can't complain, cold fronts and rain made it for a tough weekend, and I did land one fish. |

| We had our local club outing in the Minoqua area this past weekend with 18 muskies caught. 45.5 was the bigest caught by Steve Kleismith, 2nd went to Tom Oligney with a 44" and 3rd was Mrv Hilgers with a 41". We had 5 in my boat with a 39 and 34(and a couple undersized) by Greg Peterson and 36 myself(dad got blanked, but took some good naps). A good time was had by all, and a special thanks to Heart II for having us again. |

|
| The weekend started out with a bang and then fizzeled out. Friday morning I had 2 in the boat by 10:30 AM (35" and 37 1/2")[]
Friday night had 3 follows and missed one on a surface bait.[;)]
Saturday AM had 10 follows and no takers. Saturday evening only one confirmed follow. Sunday drew a complete blank.[:((]

| Thursday and Friday were the days for me in Boulder Junction.Between 7 and 9pm I got 5 between 33 and 40 off the same spot. They were smacking bucktails.Had one on a Mepps MuskyKiller and she got off.Threw back a Bucher Babytail and she'd smack it.Get a follow ,throw back the Babytail and wham.Had a 35 and a 38 in 2 casts. It was on a point that had several secondary points off it and the actice fish were on top off the secondary points in about 6 ft. of water. To bad I couldn't stay any longer but had to get back home.Who knows how long they were going to stay on that pattern. |

| Lost about a 40" when it went in & out of net on Sunday with GregM as my net man ... I got him back tonight when a fish exploded 5 feet from the boat at dark and I proceeded to bury my creeper into his leg after a missed hook set ...
Wasn't a very smooth weekend but things will be ironed out by the weekend ...
