Location: Madison WI | Its time to buy line for next year I used power pro last couple of years and want to know if there was ONLY 2 superlines available on the market (power pro and suffix) which would you use? |

Location: Latitude 41.3016 Longitude 88.6160 | Power Pro is loud when it goes thought line guides, Suffix you will not hear a peep, Power Pro wax coating and color will wash off in hours, Suffix color will last for months, Power Pro will spray you with water, Suffix will not hold water and your hands will stay dry, Suffix - Larry Dahlberg uses it !!!! PS: SHIMANO just took over Power Pro, good or bad ????

Location: Hayward, WI | I haven't used the Suffix, but I have tried Power Pro on both spinning reels (walleyes) and my musky casting reels, and wasn't a fan of it. I would probably give the Suffix a try if it was between those two!

| Why are you limiting yourself to only 2 choices? There are many good super lines out there so there is no reason to limit yourself to only 2.
Of the 2 I would go with SUffix if you must limit yourself to one of the two simply because I would not wont to use a wax coated line. |

Location: In a shack in the woods | I am a powerpro fan, you have to use a palomar knot on it though. The guys are right, it does wash off fast. I tried the 50 Lb suffix last summer on a bass rod after hearing great things about it and within the first 5 mins I hooked about a 3lb smallie and it broke my line. Luckily the fish spit out my lure and I got it back with a foot of line still attached to the lure. I went right home and took it off. I will never buy suffix again. I pay $15 each for bass lures. That's why I run the heavy line. To me no point in buying it if it snaps. |

Location: Duluth, MN | Everything that Pikemaster said. I've tried all of them and Suffix is my favorite. Power Pro is my least favorite because of the noise and it retains so much water your handle gets slippery and hands get cold cuz they are wet all the time.
Bassinbob i've used suffix for 2 years and have never had a break. You must have had a nick in your line.

Location: Yahara River Chain | I have never fished with Suffix, but voted for it anyway. The problem I have with Power Pro is that when I get a backlash, its so bad that I have to sit down with a line pick to get it out. The other lines I use do not do that, when I do get one with the other lines, I just need to pull the line and many times it comes right out. |

| A vote for powerpro. I don't know how DR in VA has been able to avoid it but there is no doubt that powerpro is noisy through the guides as well as faded to a light light green after using for a short time. I have not tried many other lines because powerpro DOES hold up very well.
One thing about powerpro I have not seen mentioned is when the dye comes out of the line - it has stained my cork handles and creates a gummy substance (maybe from mixing with reel oil) which has covered my levelwind, etc... This year I'm going to try some different lines! |

| I have never used suffix but I have used the power pro and hated it. My reel and rod are stained red now and the 1st back lash I had I couldnt get it to come out. Which was alright with me because I got to cut it out and throw it away. |

Location: Hugo, MN | I think this poll is going to show Power Pro as the preferred line, but not for the right reason. I don't know a lot of guys that have used the Suffix braid, mostly because of it's price, but also because it's relatively new. Personally, I voted for the Suffix because I hate Power Pro so badly. I could care less if the green color fades away. To me the noise is the biggest problem. I had it on three rods for a total of about one month. I just couldn't take it anymore and switched to Tuff Line XP and Cortland Masterbraid. Not to let the Power Pro line go to waste, I put it on my trolling reels. It's a good line for that, I think, but I will never cast with it again. Anyone who doesn't think it's loud needs to do themselves a favor and try some Masterbraid. It's the nicest line I've found yet. |

| Used Power Pro and hated it for a lot of the reasons mentioned.......tried Suffix 80 lb this year and loved it. Use it on all 3 of my set ups. |

Location: Oregon | I have never used Suffix but wouldn't be surprised if it was a good line. Suffix makes some excellent monos. I have used PP for the last 10 years or so without a single problem of any kind. I love the stuff, it is tough and very strong. I have never noticed the sounds associated with the stuff, I probably will now, lol. It does backlash on occassion but no worse than any other from my experience. I will give the Suffix a try.

Location: Indiana | It's not that Power Pro backlashes. It TWISTS. So if you get a twist in your line say 1/2 a cast out, you can't get the twist out no matter what you do. It'll continue to backlash at that same spot. Weird stuff. I got a ton of backlashes with it. Tried trolling the line out all the way to my backing and reeling in against a nice pulling lure. The twist would just not come out! I ran out of my other brand last year and all I had handy was 1/2 a spool of Power Pro on...it did the same thing again.
I've never used the Suffix, but I'm voting for it as all I've heard is good things. I use the 80lb Stren Powerbraid...I get WAY less backlashes than the power pro. Casts just as far. Although the green color does bleed out of the line the first day you use it....but other than that it's perfect. I'll try Suffix next.

Location: South Dakota | I have used both the power pro and and sufix. I had a number of breakage, knot, and backlash problems with power pro but, not a single one with sufix. For me the choice is easy...sufix wins hands down. I find it hard to believe that power pro is leading this race. There must be a number of people that have never tried sufix.

Location: Lockport, IL | When I fished my first braided line I tried out Power Pro. I have never had a single problem with it. Never. Unless you would consider losing it's color a problem, which I don't.
