I seen some really nice fish at the Okauchee Dam.
Their where a few girls that had to be 55" one tiger that has to be 51" and over 40lbs
Some really impressive fish in Oconomowoc.

The Oconomowoc River is the correct name - the big females are starting to stage, that's for sure. You should see quite a bit of walleye stacked in there too. Give it two weeks and that place will be a zoo with musky and walleye!

They are starting to stack up all over Southeastern WI. DNR has had their hands full lately. The dam in Waukesha has had it's share of violators.

Please help keep an eye on people in these areas. 1-888-936-7463 is the number to tip the DNR.

Crappie and perch fishing with bigger baits is not cool. People pushing the law should not be tolerated. It's a bad example for every one who see's it. I watched a guy throwing a Spring Dawg and said he was crappie fishing. I told him he was setting a bad example. He got a ticket later when a warden showed up.

Enjoy the Spring show, very cool to see what showes up every year.

Since your not able to fish the dam does that mean your not able to fish in the river.

It has gotten to be a early spring tradition to visit the pool and bridge on the frontage road along Hwy. 16.
Any sunny day this time of seems to swell both the incredible number of fish below the dam as well as the crowd along the sides of the bridge overlooking the pool below the dam.

The Okauchee River/Creek is pretty narrow and shallow. It could be difficult to manuever with other boats going in and out into Oconomowac.
