| HAs anyone ever heard of the booty tail bucktail? It looks pretty good and its huge. But i dont know about the quality. Any ideas? |

Location: Grand Rapids MN | I bought 2 of them this winter so I have yet to crank them in but the "nuts-n-bolts" of these are nice. All good, heavy duty components and the skirt is secured well on the coils. The paint jobs are excellent on the blades and from the looks of Tacklebooty's video they should be pretty chip resistant. The flashbou has really good reflection. They are BIG! |

| The booty tails I have lost all the paint off the blades and the componants and hooks rust within a days time if put in a box. |

Location: Bowling Green, KY | Mine seem to be difficult to get to spin properly. The blades seem to "hang"
together and want to spin together instead 180 degrees apart. I've tried to tune
the clevises but nothing seems to help. I just don't understand the mechanics of
what makes one bucktail work better than another to go about fixing them. I have
a DC-9 that I think I could get to spin with a zebco 33 if the gears could handle it.
I have pretty well scavenged mine for parts. |

| A friend of mine has a Dominatrix that doesn't spin properly. The 2 blades always want to stick together. After the cast, you have to give it a couple hard jerks to get them to separate. Is this because the blades are more flat than concave? |

| I've got two Dominatrix same problem with both tough to get blades going and very little paint left on them but, they look pretty cool when you get'em running. Made in China? |

Location: N.FIB | maybe cut one blade off and make it a single #10,that might work.I have the same problem with the ones I have also,the blades don`t spin like the rest of them,maybe more weight would help. |

Location: Latitude 41.3016 Longitude 88.6160 | On all DCG 10 OR 13 you have to make sure the CLEVISES are not bent, just bend back stright and they will run fine. All BIG bucktails will have to be adjusted from time to time to make the blades run right.

Location: Roseau, MN | I've had the same issues as others with the Dominatrix (3 of them) - the blades hang and once you get them seperated the whole bait spins. Tried everything recommended on here - checking clevis, putting a slight bend in the bait, tweaking the blades and not much luck. |

Location: Madison, WI | I had the same problem initially when I started making my own double 10's. The blades wouldnt seperate and would force the entire bait to spin. I played around with spacing the components and nothing seemed to work. I tried changing to a magnum clevis (flatter and beefier) but those are junk, after 50 or so casts they start to bend in on themselves and wont properly spin, bending them out again only weakened the clevis, causing it to bend more. The only solution I found that works is to use an oversized clevis(#8 I think) that has a much bigger hole diameter than the wire, if his tails are .062 wire that might be part of the problem. I use .051 with the largest clevis (same as the pics) above and havent had any issues yet.
If you are using the lighter flashabou(not the magnum), that material tends to wrap up in itself and if there is any twisting going on, its all over. The magnum flashabou helps with this dramatically. Another aspect of those baits may be that if there is too much flashabou, there is just too much for the bulge effect and you are pushing too much water, effecting the performance of the blades.
These baits are definately fickle and it takes a ton of time to get the right combination of components, blades, spacing, weight, and amount of flashabou until they are going just right.

| Never had a problem with blades sticking on a Double Cowgirl, even, fish after fish, after fish, after fish.......Not putting down the Booty Tail or any others out there, just stating fact. There's a lot more to making a bucktail than putting beads and blades on wire. I learned the hard way 25 years ago when I had to keep chopping baits I had made because "they didn't run right". Lots of trial and error. Of course I'd spent a lot of money on quality components too. I still have lots of stuff if any aspiring "tackle Co." wants to inquire. |
