I have the option of either Aug 1-8 in the Northwest Angle area of LOTW, or Sept 12-19 in Whitefish Bay LOTW. For maximum musky adventure, which option gives me the best chance? I can only pick one unfortunately - thanks!

Hands down for a "maximum musky adventure" go with August 1-8 in the NW Angle. Whitefish Bay has a MUCH lower density of muskies than the mesotrophic portions of LOTW.

The Northwest angle or Sabaskong Bay will offer you the better numbers. If you ever decide to fish Whitefish Bay for muskies, I would chose the fall fishing. There are HUGE muskies in Whitefish, but they can be difficult to catch. I enjoy fishing Whitefish, but for day-to-day fishing Sabaskong is my choice. I used to fish the Northwest Angle and enjoyed that, too. There are big fish in the NW angle also. Good Luck.

Hands down the Northwest Angle!!  As stated above, the Angle will offer up the numbers of fish and the size of fish there awesome as well.  You will have the chance at a 50 plus up there without a doubt.

Musky Hunters,
THANKS for the feedback, I really appreciate it. That's what I'd heard from a friend as well, but it's great to get confirmation from the true hunters. I'm from the midwest but live in New York for now, and only get to do this one week a year. Now I know I'm putting the odds in my favor to make it count. My PB is a 45", anything that size or bigger would be incredible. In fact, a 40" plus would make me happy. Thanks again!

What lodge are you looking at on Whitefish? On the Angle? I would reccomend if fishing only one you should do the NW Angle. Last summmer I fished both the meso and clear sections of LOTW and like everyone else says you contact much more fish on the meso sections like the Angle or Sab Bay. In the clear sections you can see some big fish but it is much harder to get hooks in them.

Anglers Post on the NW Angle. The lodge on Whitefish was still tbd. And, I'd much rather catch fish, or not even see one, than be tortured by a bunch of monster follows on a clear lake!
