I think it's usually Saturday night at one of the bars along MN 65.

It will be held at O'Gara's Pub in St Paul. ogaras.com is the website. We have had last minute request for a group that needs some help, so we will turn it into some sort of fundraising event the group, potential for a band or 2. Details to follow, trying to wrap up our banquet saturday, then this will become a focus

O'gara's is right on the corner of Selby and Snelling (busy intersection just south of 94). Probably a half mile west of of Concordia (where the expo is).

St paul is traditionaly an Irish spawned town,,no shortage of bars to choose from,,finding one that offered leinies for the wisc attendees insted of just Guinness was the trick!!
we have O'garas shamrock room reserved courtesy of "Barkers bay resort' and hard work by "dock is in" to get this very popular and one of the TC areas most famous locals on a saturday night.

For those who didnt know... George's MN Muskie Expo has been moved to Concordia College which is right off I-94 in St. Paul... and O'Gara's is nearby... O'Gara's is a popular bar in St. Paul...

Marine... MN Muskie Expo used to be held at the National Sports Center in Blaine right off Hwy 65... and the swap meet was held at a bar less than a mile north off 65 too... but not anymore...

Plenty of hotels near downtown, just a mile or two from Concordia. There's one right off the Marion St./ Kellogg Blvd. Exit. A few right by the Xcel Energy Center too.

What is the Days Inn like that is close to the Expo? Any other names of hotels anyone would recommend? I've been looking online and found a few, but looking for opinions on where to stay for a reasonable price.
Any help would be appreciated!!
Please post here or PM me if you want.

I'm interested in picking up an Okuma rod at the show, does anyone know if they will be available?

Rollie and Helen's had them available at the Madison show, so if they're at the MN Expo that would be a good place to look first.

FYI

I just talked with R&H the other day and the guy I talked to said they weren't making the MN expo.

I think the Best Western Kelly Inn, or the Holiday Inn Rivercentre would be two of your best choices, both decent hotels in nicer areas of town. The Days Inn is not somewhere I'd stay. Not a nice neighborhood if I'm thinking of the same one (University Ave, near Cretin/Vandalia?).

You might want to call Thorne Bros and see if they'll have one.
