Location: 3586 Wadsworth Rd. Norton, OH 44203 | Make a lure with directional control and catch a Muskie on it.
I have a utility patent for planing floats or lures with direction control but if you are sucessful we will work out an agreement.
This shows the concept of planing floats with directional control.
If planing to the left a little tug makes them flip to plane to the right and vise versa.
Here is a very basic template for 1/4” thick pine pieces you can interlock with a piece of WD40 tubing.
If you want to make it bigger (scale it up) use a thicker board and metal tube.
You could even take a tree branch (light dry wood for high buoyancy) and do some chisel‘n & carv’n.
Here are a couple examples of undecorated but fancier shapes.
Having them expose different colors when they flip could also induce a strike.
If doing a figure 8 next to the boat can make a Musky hit I figure doing a zigzag all the way to the boat should help. Also, it is possible to make them so they go into a dive as well as plane left or right by balancing the weight properly. Once in a dive you reel faster to dive deeper or slowly so they can come back up to the surface. Planing left or right and diving, has got to be a good thing for Muskie. Right????
I'm not sure this depicts what I say above but I tried!
I hope you'll let the wood chips fly and see where they land!
