Subject: Sonar/GPS Hookup

Well, I got a good deal on a LMS-520c. Just reading through the booklet here and I am confused on a few things. When hooking the unit up to the battery will the main power cable power the gps? The way that it's worded makes it sound like you have to hook up the NMEA 2000 network thingy. When I read about that it sounds like I don't need it.

Can anybody straighten me out on this. I am not a great electrical mind. Everything else should be easy to install but I worry about electrical stuff. - Thanks

NO. The display and the Gps use different power leads. One set, for the puck, is in the NEMA set.

Read this, it may help you.
