for leader making i ordered 130 lb seagar, 5 stay lok snaps and number 4 ball bearing swivels from thorne bros. My question is the swivels look kind of small but they say they are rated for 135 lbs. Should i go bigger for the swivels or are they sufficent considering that the line is only rated at 130 lbs. Thanks in advance for all help.

OK, this actually brings up something I've been thinking about for awhile. I'm as guilty as the next guy for buying the biggest, heaviest-duty whatchamahoozit I can find. If I'm buying split rings, I'll go for the 250 lbers over the 185 lbers all day long. Swivels and snaps... same thing. And I find myself worrying if the 90 lb seven strand I bought to make leaders with will hold up.
But doesn't it come down to how much force the drag on my reel is set to maintain? As long as I don't actually clomp down all the way on the drag and horse a fish in, isn't the 'weakest link' in the chain the actual drag set? I don't mean to hijack a thread, but I keep thinking about it whenever I reach up for the heavier(est) weight thing I can find...
