has anyone tried the Torium for Muskie, and if yes how did it work. Im most concerned about casting and the line spooling evenly.

they cast really well and move the bait fast. As long as you are paying attention to the line, every so often, it comes in well.

This was discussed thoroughly last year on this board, and the concensus was that the Torium performed well, but wasn't as smooth as a Trinidad. Go figure, at half the price you get a reel that isn't as refined. Still gets the job done though.

When I get a high speed reel, I think it will be the Saltist with a levelwind just for the fact that it will be able to handle ripping and twitching, not just straight retrieves. I'm not going to spend four hundred dollars on a reel, ever.
