Posts: 572 | Hope the mapquest helps a little..... http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?city=vermilion+bay&state=O... The map doesn't show the railroad tracks you cross over just before the road splits off to the ram.

Posts: 572 | you will have to zoom in on the map to a level showing the streets. see the left side for bars to zoom in. I think I was on level 11. hope this helps.

I can't remember the name of the road exactly, but you can reach it via the road off of Highway 512 that takes you to all the resorts on the North side of Eagle, takes about 10-15 minutes from there. That would easily be the closest for you to get to from your location on Wabigoon

thnx. Am familiar with the vermillion bay one i believe launched out of there when stayed at AML. Looking for some along east side so as not to drive roughly an hour around to north end of lake. Will all or most of the resorts let you launch your boat at their private ramps for a small fee. Did that one time several years ago but cant remember name. Remember it was loaded with boulders everywhere idling out from bay. It was straight across from froghead bay. thnx again

Posts: 13688 Location: minocqua, wi. | the one brian is talking about is another public launch and is just north of eagle lake lodge ... the last few years the water has been sparse there though and a couple years back you might not have been able to put one in there. every year we go we spend a day in the boat with cal and every year a minn-kota auto pilot pedal breaks and every year we meet someone at that landing waiting impatiently for another pedal so we can fish. don'tcha just love those auto-pilots?!!

This year it was someone not filling up his gas tank and realizing it after getting to Coleman's. The other landing you mentioned with the boulders is located next to Evergreen Lodge, it's the launch for one of the Island camps on the lake...I think they charge you like 20 bucks, and yes, those rocks are awful AND there is now a giant cruiser boat parked there making launching even more tough...I would definetely launch out of the park, keep an eye on the water levels like Sled said...

Posts: 434 Location: searchin for 50 | There is also another one on century rd just outside of Dryden. Launch in Rice bay not the one that is marked on the fishing hotspot map. That one had some pretty deep ruts if I recall right. It's been a few years since I have launched there. That is closer than running all the way to vermilion bay. It all depends on what you want to fish I guess Edited by Raider150 1/31/2009 11:51 AM

thnx a bunch for all your input. enjoyed staying at AML but at half the price at indian point camp at the goon, hard to justify. Like fishing both environments with the shallow dirty water weed bite and the clear rock/weed bite. This way.......i get to take ALL my muskie lures for different fishing conditions ![]() Steve Worall can verify that indian point camp is great to stay at if for no other reason, you can always get out and fish muskies close to camp if the wind is howling elsewhere.
