Are there any good guides for the southern section and is there any cabins/b&b/hotel on the river where you can leave the boat in the water? I would also be interested in any good lodging on/near the river...

Thanks
Sam

Give Josh Stevenson a call at Blue Ribbon Bait & Tackle. I know he's spent some time down there, and is a good guide to boot. As far as lodging, Stillwater or Hudson would have numerous hotels available, or if you were so inclined there are a bunch of campsites available on the river. Also, try to avoid mid-days on the river. It can get pretty crazy out there. One time to avoid if you can is toward the end of July when Stillwater's Lumberjack days are going on. I've never seen so many boats on the river at once. Might be ok down toward Hudson though.

Stillwater has a surplus of hotels an b&b's. Call Josh Stevenson of blue ribbon bait in Oakdale. He fishes the river often. Bring your bass gear too!!

I would give the Griz a call. No one knows the rivers like he does. I would also say that I have heard good things about Josh Stevenson and he is frequently on "my" spots when I see him on the river...... He must be good

Ya but i dont think Griz does much musky fishing. Hes mainly focused on mississippi 'eyes. Stevenson is who you want to call at blue ribbon.
