I have two older rods that I really like. Was wondering how much it would cost to have the guides replaced and the blank refinished? Would it be worth it???

Depends on what kind of rods they are Scott. First off, it is nearly impossible to duplicate a factory rod finish on the blank. I have refinished several and they will not look smooth like the factory job. As far as replacing the guides that is not a real difficult proposition depending on the type of guides you wanted to put back on.

I would caution, though, that less expensive rods are much more prone to being damaged while removing guides and rewrapping.

Are you planning on leaving the handle section as is?

Yes, rod handles are fine. Would just be the guides and the finish. These are the old Cabela's Bucher series rods. I guess I'm thinking that by the time I buy the guides and add the time for someone to wrap and finish it, I'd probably be better off buying something like a new St. Croix.

Was just a thought.
