Definitely a great book to learn from.

http://www.amazon.com/Spoonplugging-Your-Guide-Lunker-Catches/dp/B0...

May not be about "muskies", but you will learn a ton about how fish work.

The quickest way to learn a particular body of water is to hire a guide- well worth the money -since most Guides have spent many a season fishing this particular body of water- it will save you months of venturing out on your own picking apart a (med-to lrg size body of water)and who knows they may help you hook up with a PB !

To understand the fish, you must understand the fisherman. First Light on the Water by Al and Ron Linder, best short read ever.

If you are looking for something general, try Saric and Heiting, The Complete Guide To Musky Hunting (2d ed.). This book goes over the various types of lures and what they do.

The interviews with the guides in any of Eli Singer's books are extremely informative. You have to skip over a lot of them, but he's interviewed some of the best.

'Through the Fish's Eye' is a good one, too... Like others, it's more a general 'fishing' book than a musky book, but it was a good read. It's an older book, but I got a copy cheap on Amazon.

Tony Rizzos "secrets of a musky guide 2" is the best book Ive ever read,,keep it by my bed during the season.
It takes you through the season month by month and by watertemp in case you have a month that has a abnormal condition.
when you look at this book it looks horribly outdated but the info in it covers all weather/front/ seasonal movements,,
when you want to know how 3 days of rain etc in June or sept will affect things just open up the chapter for those months.
Great info.

Time on the Water was a good read to pass some time during the winter. Kind of reminded me of my season this year!

A great new book from the minds of Esox Angler (Jack Burns and Rob Kimm) is called:   PRO   TACTICS- MUSKIE~Use the Secrets of the Pros to Catch More and Bigger Muskies.

It is styled like a softcover textbook, and covers everything in 145 pages and 11 chapters. This is a must have for those new to the sport. It is beneficial to more seasoned anglers as well.

From the Esox Angler website: This book presents a full course in muskie fishing, including lures, tackle, habitats, seasonal movements, and the angling strategies to catch more and bigger muskies.

I would stay online and read the internet, there is more information at the click of your mouse then you will ever find or read in any book out there. There are so many great reports on this site and others about what has worked this past year and years before at what time of year and the various locations around the country, it's by far the best up to date info and I suggest you do searches, look back and pay attention to what alot of these guys are saying. It's cutting edge stuff.

There's a lot of info today some of it good and some very misleading,, but how do we separate truth and true fishing facts from a one time occurrence or opinion.

Al Lindner took 2 books with him when he went to Vietnam, the 1st was the Holy Bible, the other was the bible of structure fishing "Your Guide to Lunker Catches written by Buck Perry.

I'll give you a little clue,, 1st it's not the little things that average fisherman have trouble with, it's the interpretation of productive structure and learning how to identify it. "Your Guide to Lunker Catches" will teach you how you can do this!
