I picked up some spinnerbait blanks and am looking for some tips on how varying the lengths of the wire leading to the blade affects the bait. I notice some baits, like Long's (which I love to burn over reefs) tend to have a shorter arm while other baits have a longer length of wire leading to the blade.

I'm guessing the shorter arm lends itself to a faster retrieve without the bait rolling while a longer length would be for a slower retrieve but do a better job keeping weeds off?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks,
