Location: 412 | Hey guys - just got the DCG and I'm wondering if it'll produce a range of various size fish. One of the lakes I fish don't have too many beasts in it and is considered an 'action' lake. A real big fish would probably be around 45in (maybe more). Most of the muskies are relatively small around 30-37 inches. I'm wondering if I were to throw such a big bait.. would limit the numbers of fish significantly in this particular lake?
What's the smallest you've caught throwing a DCG?

Location: Musky Tackle Online, MN | Double Cowgirls and other double 10s are great for fish of all sizes. Just like other baits, there are times when there will be better options. But they're great baits that are worth using on any lake you're on. I've caught several bass on them as small as about 15". So small fish will eat them!

| First fish I caught on a DCG was a bass about the same size as the bait. I don't think it will limit the number of fish you catch. Maybe they see it as a small school of baitfish and not one large fish. |

| I have caught them as small as 34 inched on DC10s. Its mainly the vibration they key into not the size. And these things put out a ton of that. Both big and small fish key into that vibration, so yes, you should be able to throw it on that lake with results. |

| I caught a musky that coudn't have been bigger than 24" on one....
you also might want to get a handfull of the magnum double 9 bucktails as well...

Location: Hayward, WI | The only fish I have caught on DCs have been between 37 and 39 inches. I think this is mostly because I was throwing them in a spot that typically seemed to have fish in that size range, but they certainly ate them. I don't think you'd be missing too many of the mid to upper 30 inch fish by using them, but I do agree with BN on trying out some double 9 tails. Hard to say for sure, but on some days something just a tad smaller than the double 10s might be what they want. Then again, some days they might want 12s or 13s. Small muskies can eat (or try to) some pretty big baits.

| yes, some days they won't look at double 10s, some days they want small bucktails, some days big.. some days they don't want bucktails, period....just like any bait, you have to have different sizes as they change their mood and what they want and how they want it presented by the second at times...d10s are by no means the only size bucktail you should throw...if you do, you will miss out on catching fish ...guaranteed. |

Location: Duluth, MN | Yea my son got a 38 on opener last year on a Super Cowgirl. They will eat anything they want. But this year i am going to try the Cowgirl Jr....hopefully they are easier on my elbows but still have the same effect on the fish. |

Location: Hopefully on the water | I have acaught fish from 30"-46" on these baits. I have had follows from both larger and smaller fish. I will be throwing them again this next season. The Double Showgirls and Junior have worked real well also when everyone else out there is throwing the DCG's. |
