-fallen out of the boat while muskie fishing? No

-gotten so lost that you had to ask for directions on the water? No ,but ran out of oil and had to ask for it.

-enjoyed the company of a member of the opposite sex while on the water (in a biblical sense)? Yes

Have you ever told yourself to keep paying attention to your lure, only to have a musky show up the one time you look up on shore at the cool looking rock? Yes that always happens, just like duck hunting, the moment you look away......

Have you ever started to drive away to look up and see your trolling motor is still down? Yes

Have you ever made a cast and watched your rod and reel go sailing into the lake due to wet hands and fatigue? No, but I forgot to push the button and threw the rod right out of my hands. Luckily the lake was frequented by divers so the next day I asked them to look for it.

have you ever cut off a bass fisherman working a shoreline because that cup of coffee went right threw you and you needed to get off the lake pronto? Have you ever tried to set the hook so hard that the top water you were fishing with hit your x partner in the forehead giving him 4 stiches?

have you ever not seen a following fish until too late and failed to figure-8, only to have the fish decide the rotating prop looks like a good plan-B meal?

Have you ever had an active fish by the boat and have your partner stop fishing and sit down so he can order flowers to send to his ex-girlfriend for her birthday?

This was the first thing that came to mind when I saw the title of this thread. Brilliant.

Anybody that had an ex-girlfriend on their mind while musky fishing definitely needs to get their priorities straightened out.

I spaced out once thinking about that crap and missed a strike. Doh!

Great thread.
Have you ever made a cast and watched your rod and reel go sailing into the lake due to wet hands and fatigue? No, but the first musky rod I ever used was very old. Casted it once and was left holding nothing but the bottom 5 inches of the butt of the rod.

Have you ever nailed a sea gull (unintentionally) in mid-air, reel her in, and finishwith a perfect "catch and release" while the other 1,000 sea gulls of the lake are squawking their disapproval.

Have you ever fished all day in the rain and cold and then when you havent had any action all day you hear the clicking of the reel on your sucker rig rod. The guide hands you the rod and tells you to set the hook, and when you do the rod goes right out of your hands and ends up in the water. You grab the rod and reel in the first muskie of your life, a 38 incher....... I have

have you ever...been fishing a weagle and got distracted by your untied shoe and for some inexplicable reason decided to set your rod down mid-cast to tie your shoe and had a fish hit the lure while the rod was sitting on the deck?

yes, yes i have.
and in case you're wondering, it's pretty tough to set the hook when you're not holding the rod...
