With the hot temp. and the low water for the past 2 weeks, I've really been having a hard time finding fish. I know they are there but can get no action of any kind. This stream has a max depth of aprox. 15 feet, with pools up to 150 yds in lenght and shallow riffles, Cover is rocks and some fallen timber. My Problem: I can find these fish in the fall, winter and spring, but when summer comes , these fish seem to vanish. Any ideas??? Fished it 3 times in the last week with crankbaits, topwater, spinnerbaits/bucktails, and smaller jerkbaits. Covered about 2 miles of prime stream with no sighting and I need help. Where have all the fishes gone???

Mauser, what's up dude, I thought you fell off the face of the earth or your new wife broke your rod in half or something, lol! Dude, I had my best day ever on sunday on Stream X. The fish are shallow. Real shallow. We popped 4 fish and 8 follows. Not one came from deep water.
Fish the shallow/current areas above the holes, that's where the action has come from. Also, come on up when you get a chance, maybe we'll get mikie and jon to come out, we can crash at my house or camp, and stick some skies.

Also, down sized more finesse stuff was the trick the water was ultra clear.

On the dark river water here the fish stay real shallow go to the top man. Loud surface baits usually produce.
