The lake I have been fishing this past week usually has great weed beds in many locations, this year it is absolutely the dead sea. Are the lakes in other parts of the state the same way this season? I was on Little Green a couple of weeks ago and it was loaded with fresh green stuff. I'm heading up to the Oneida/Vilas area on Wednesday and Thursday, any lakes with good growth. I was planning on Allequash and maybe High lake.

Most of the lakes I've been on either are in algae bloom or have no weeds at all yet. Good luck this weekend.

Derek,
Madison weeds are starting to get to the usual I hear. Everything should be going like usual, just later.

Sorry about the other morning. Lightning storm and the power went out. Tried to log back on again and same thing happened. I figured I better not tempt fate with that third strike. Look for me next time you are on.

Hope your trip goes well, good luck!

Scott,

Been there with the lightning, I signed off within seconds of that probably, I was at work and had couple of patients who needed attention.

I think millfoil starts much sooner than most weeds. It's really up on some lakes, I have seen good patches in mid 40 degree water in early april.
