| How would either of these rods do for jerkbaits or jigging tubes and creatures?
I am comparing them to the PM69HF. I owned this rod once and disliked it because of it's "shortness" and "stiffness",thus trading it. I am overcoming my stubborness to use short rods but don't want a pool cue or one that is too limp. Are these rods a happy medium??
My mainstay rods are the PM76MHF and PM80MHF which I like for cranks, topwater and hair. I do see now that I need a shorter rod for effective jerkbaits, but I guess what I am asking is can I do it effectively with a MHF tip or do I really need the HF tip?? Thanks much. |

| I like my 7-0MH for your intneded use. I have a 7-2MH and only use it for very small cranks and bucktails. Its much softer then the 7-0 |

I have a few 7 footers MH St. Croixs overall a great rod I would recommend them. Maybe they might be a little stiff for tubes but man overall just a great rod to plug with.

| Greg, I have a PM70MHF that I just purchased before the R & H tourney this weekend. Paid $119.00 + tax. It is about 3 or 4 inches too long for a short armed guy like me. I am willing to part with it for say $95.00. I could meet you half way over to Rice Lake some day to save on shipping. What do you think, rod has been used about 2 hours. Let me know. |

| Mike, your on. I'll take it. Where you fishing this weekend? Maybe we can do the transaction in my boat on sayyy maybe Bone or Deer or wherever. I am hoping to get the boat in this week to fix the oil leak, hopefully will be ready to go by the weekend. It runs fine but is making a mess in the water.
I could always plan a day over in that part of the country too during the week. I have dealers over there. What is your schedule during the week?
thx much. |

| The day I got the PM70MHF I thought I had a pool cue on my hand for a medium heavy action rod. As I got used to it, I liked it for a jerkbait rod. However, I wanted a shorter rod to help me out better so I got the Avid 6'9 and just love it. If you haven't used this rod your missing out! |

| I just got a PM70MHF for jerks and I love it, but I agree with the others that it's going to be too heavy for tubes and jigs. Got it at the factory store in Park Falls for $96. It's a first run rod that was taken around by one of their reps, so that's the reason for the 20% discount off normal retail. It definitely is way better than the pool cue PM69HF and is perfect for that application (jerks). For tubes and jigs I prefer a PM610MF. This is plenty soft to "feel" the jigs and I also use it for smaller springtime cranks and bucks. I have never used the PM72MHF so I can't comment, but I would assume that it may be a bit soft for some of the larger heavier jerks. The 70MHF is rated for 3/4 - 3 oz lure weight, while the 72MHF is only rated for 1/2 - 2 1/2 oz. which might be a tad light for bigger jerks. |

| You can't buy anymore rods because then mine won't fit in your boat.
We could take my boat as it has more rod storage area.
If I ever get it on the water and out of the shop.
Can't wait to try the big 200 on the back of her. |
