Posts: 46 Location: Central Illinois | I'm looking to make a bump board to measure muskies. I've seen pics on the website of some really neat ones people have made. If you have any pics or ideas I'd love to see them. Thanks! | ||

Posts: 2024 | Building our bump board was my winter project a couple years ago. Solid oak boards, oak scraps for the vertical pieces, metal 72" ruler cut down to 60", balsa spacers to create a flush surface with the ruler. Galvanized screws to secure the vertical boards and the ruler to the base boards. Wood glue and small nails (may be called "brads") to secure the balsa to the base boards. Finish with all-weather stain/sealer and 2-3 coatings of polyurethane. Weighs a lot, but was a fun project and turned out well. Fits alongside our passenger seats in our C-Liner Fishhawk. Posts: 443 Location: Duluth, MN | Here's one i did last winter. No major craftsmanship here but was fun to pass some time. Cut out some mag covers....glued them to the board...5 or 6 coats of poly.
