Yes, that guy STILL owes me $500 in Grunt blanks!

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH HIM!!!!

I know of three other small lure companies he has done that same thing to. Sorry to bash him on a public site but I don't want others to get taken for a lot of money! I was lucky when I lost money with him as I was already out of my tight money situation but if he would have taken me for $500 at the start of my lure company it really would have hurt my chances of making it.

Richard, did he take you for some money all the way from the Netherlands? He is a real.....well don't do business with him....

His first name is Lee (From West Virginia) and on eBay his alias is: Hawaiisbest60

Run! Run away as fast as you can

Hey, before you shoot your mouth off why don't you get the facts.
He got knocked down by cancer and fell off the map. He is in remission now but is still out of comission. His son is making some lures and listing them under his name. So before you bad mouth the guy, get the whole story. I'm sure while he laid around for the last 2+ years suffering from cancer, your blanks were the first thing on his mind. Apparently they were on yours. Did you ever call him? Ever try to e-mail him or talk to his wife? The last time I talked to him the conversation lasted 5 minutes and had to end because he couldn't breate.
Don't think because you see a lure or 2 on frickin' ebay that he's some rotten creep that owes you some wood. I hope he gets better soon, because I WOULD DO BUSINESS WITH HIM ANY DAY! He's one of the nicest guys that I know.
Sorry his cancer got in the way of your work order.

I'll second that Beav, I saw that his son in a previous posting on Ebay had mentioned he was selling his fathers lures because he wasn't doing very well, and I was under the impression he passed away....I'm glad you clarified that he hasn't passed, and provided us with an update on his condition.

When I first started building I had Lee do some blanks for me and had good luck. I sincerely hope that he is doing well and on his way to recovery. However, in James defense, I don't think it would have taken too much effort on Lee's part to take 10 seconds and explain the situation as to why he wouldn't be able to provide the blanks right away.

Sure. And if James would have worded his rip on Lee a little nicer, I'd agree with you even more, but he even went the extra step to complain for someone else.
I couldn't get in touch with Lee Agpalo, that's his last name (He also goes by Leeiacocoanuts and Cocaonuthead) and I thought he was dead. His wife never returned any emails or calls while he was in the hospital for the first 9 months.
Like I said, I'd do business with him any time, and I pray for his quick recovery every day.

I did not know he had cancer but he had done this to others before me from what I understand. I hope he is doing better but he still could send me back my $500 or at least explain it too me. I help a LOT of guys/gals/kids/vets/etc so if I had known I would have gladly forgave the rest of what he owed me. Not sure why you are going off on me when as you can tell I had no clue he had cancer. Of course I would not bad mouth a guy when he is down but FIRST I have to know that he is down on his luck and he made NO effort to tell me and I had sent well over 20 emails plus letters plus over 10 phone calls to him! By the way, I would ask you take some of your own advice before going off on others as well… I do hope he is/has recovered, cancer is a wicked demon of a disease and I have seen first hand what it can do to a human , family and friends.

I don't blame him for being upset especially if they are posting lures on ebay and not fulfilling back orders. Yes the cancer is going to be your top priority but if you are having your son take over some of your work I am sure they talked and I would think that they would have discussed what needed to be filled and what to do first. It could have been worded better but he did give some explination and remember he responded to the post he did not start it I am sure they are not the only two people out there that are in the same position. What if it was your money and you were set back because of it. Good business is good business no matter what life throws at you. Once he is back to 100% I am sure he is excellent to work with and will fulfill his orders.

James and I shook and made up. We both agreed that we could have handled it differently, and should have.
We're cool, so there's nothing more to say except prayers for Lee and his continued rehabilitation and the strength to kick cancer's butt.

So his son is on eBay? Its not Lee? I don't think my email for Lee is good anymore. I wanted him to know I had no hard feelings and wish him well. I feel lucky to not have to watch a family member go through this. Beaver, if you have a good email please PM me.
Thanks,
James

Yes, that is his son selling lures on ebay. I guess he is finishing up lures that Lee had laying around and then selling them. I know I got excited when I saw Lees ebay name up there, but then felt weird when I read the message with the lure because it says "I'm selling the last of my dad's lures" or something like that. If there is something for sale now, you can send the seller a question and ask his kid if he knows what is going on.
