Random quote: "I should be home way before dark honey" <--I think I actually really mean it when I say it too.

I just thought I would throw this out there to all of you wood bait makers. I have approximately 30 mature Cedar trees I am going to be removing from my property next year. If any of you are interested and have the means, you can have as much of it as you want for free. I will have the trees dropped, all you have to do is cut it up and haul it off. I'm not sure if anyone would be interested but if you are, send me a PM. Thanks,
Beaver

You should talk to the logger for us. Speaking for myself, I would be able to drop the trees and cut it to length, but that is where it stops. It has to go to a mill and be ripped and kiln dried.
I have an idea.....why don't you talk to the guys doing the work, and see if you can't get some 1" thick by 8" boards and send them to each baitmaker who volunteers, and have lures made for you by us from trees that grew on your land......how cool of a collection would that be? If you supply me with some, I'll gladly make a few for you. I'm sure some other guys would too.

It would be cool to have custom baits made from my own trees; however, we will be doing the work ourselves. We will be dropping the trees and then cutting it up and hauling some of it to the brush dump and burning the rest.

i just finished a few baits from a cedar log. it was given to me. i never worked so hard for a few bodies. accomplishment you bet. the work far exceeded the the results. i will leave the lumbering, milling to folks that are good at it.
sure was nice cedar though.
